What do I love about the Apostle Paul? I love his apparent calmness. When I look at Paul in the Scriptures, I see a man who promotes calm trust in a loving God who sovereignly orchestrates all affairs of men.
Paul doesn’t seem unfeeling or apathetic or low-energy. But in different kinds of circumstance and situations, he appears to instill calm reliance upon God.

The present moment in our world–with its conflicts, uncertainties, political posturing, financial recession, and wide-spread double-mindedness–brings many occasions for people (even Christians) to panic or wring hands or want to wring necks. But the ministry of God’s grace, modeled by Paul says, “Be calm.”

I ask myself, “How calm are you in this pandemic moment?”

How calm are you in this moment? We need more calm.

But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:5)
